Estimator

A well-established steelworks contractor is currently seeking a forward-thinking Estimator with experience in architectural or structural steelwork. Our industry-leading client specialises in manufacturing and installing balconies, balustrades, staircases, canopies, and secondary steelwork for high-rise residential and commercial contractors nationwide. With a continuously expanding portfolio of main contract partners and a reliable supply chain, this role offers a prime opportunity for a skilled Estimator to join their dynamic team in Bedfordshire.

The Estimator's role

The successful Estimator will report directly to the Sales Director, taking full ownership of assigned estimate submissions. The Estimator will manage client expectations, ensure the timely delivery of all estimates, and attend estimating and pre-contract meetings as necessary. Additionally, the Estimator will lead handover meetings to transition secured projects to the production team and foster productive relationships with employees, clients, contractors, and consultants.

The Estimator

• Prior experience in pricing projects within the architectural metalwork or steelwork sectors.
• A diligent and ambitious individual with a profound understanding of construction.
• Strong commercial acumen and the capability to deliver estimates promptly.
• A proven track record in similar roles is essential.
• Exceptional time management skills and the confidence and interpersonal finesse to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
• Experience in client and designer interactions, adept negotiation skills, and a demonstrated ability to secure projects.
