Berry Recruitment are working with an established but expanding Construction company looking for a new integral team member to join them. They are looking for an experienced Estimator to join them in their Tiverton office, this role will be taking over duties from the company owner.

We are looking for a motivated and skilled member to join an already solid team. You will be an experienced Estimator who is comfortable in all aspects of construction from breaking ground on day one, to final completion across a broad range of domestic & commercial projects.

As an Estimator you will actively price materials and labour for private domestic & commercial projects, focusing on reducing costs and improving efficiencies, therefore having a real impact on the profitability and commercial success, As well as conducting site surveys, valuations & tender submissions .

As an estimator your role and responsibilities will include the following:

  • Responsible for the financial and technical aspects of contracts.
  • Cost Control.
  • Variation account management & valuations.
  • Minimising costs where possible, maximising value and ultimately making a profit.
  • Working with direct labour and subcontractors, ensuring all work issued has labour targets to return agreed profit performance.
  • Developing and maintaining relationships with the workforce, customers, subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Procuring materials, plant, and subcontracts in line with the contract budgets.
  • Producing fortnightly contract valuations for each active site.
  • Conducting site surveys.

To be considered for this estimator opportunity you must have the following experience and knowledge:

  • Experience within the private domestic & commercial sector.
  • Managing a direct clients expectations and delivering quality new build, extension, renovation and conversion projects to a high standard.
  • A proven ability to minimise cost and maximise value, profit, and cash flow.
  • Strong IT and spreadsheet skills.
  • Experience in working with direct labour and subcontract procurement.
  • Experience working on Schedule of Rates contracts is desirable, with the ability to price works from first principles.
  • High awareness & experience of Health & Safety.
  • Full UK driving license and a vehicle to commute.
