My client are a leading renewable energy specialist based in the heart of Cambridge, is looking for a motivated and results-oriented Estimator to join our growing team. They are experts in the design, installation, commissioning and maintenance of ground source, water source and air source heat pump systems, working on multimillion-pound projects.

While a background in renewable technologies like ground-source heat pumps, air-source heat pumps, or geothermal heating is a plus, it's not essential. We're looking for someone with experience in construction estimating or HVAC who thrives in a fast-paced environment. They offer a comprehensive training program designed to equip you with the specific knowledge you need to excel in this role. They have multiple success stories - several of their junior engineers are now leading projects, proving our commitment to internal growth!

In this role you'll take a deep dive into project blueprints, specifications, and client requirements to meticulously craft cost estimates. This will involve researching current material and equipment costs, factoring in labor hours, and considering potential project risks. Working closely with the sales team, you'll translate your estimates into clear and competitive proposals that win over clients. In short, your accuracy, attention to detail, and negotiation skills will be key to ensuring our projects are feasible, cost-effective, and a perfect fit for our clients' needs.

The Person

• Strong analytical skills and a knack for detail-oriented calculations.
• Adaptable and eager to learn new skills in the renewable energy sector.
• Background in Construction / HVAC / Estimating / Heating
• Understands the importance of clear communication and delivering value to clients.

The Role

• Interpret blueprints, specifications, and client needs.
• Research material/equipment costs, factor in labor, and consider project risks.
• Translate estimates into clear and competitive project proposals.
• Research and negotiate with suppliers to secure best value for materials and equipment.
• Participate in training and stay up-to-date on renewable energy trends.
