Prospero Teaching are recruiting for an Early Years Teaching Assistant to work in a lovely, Primary School in Chorley. The position is to support a range of different ability children some with additional needs, likely to be autism, although undiagnosed due to age. The EYFS TA will help the child with managing their behaviour, focusing on some age-appropriate tasks, and with social interaction, communication, and academic development. The position is full-time, to begin in September, with the opportunity to become permanent staff at the school for the successful applicant. The school would like to organise trial days as soon as possible.

This is a large primary school with a confident, dedicated, and experienced staff team. You will be expected to carry out general duties around the classroom and work proactively with the team. Experience of working on a 1:1 basis is required, and it is also essential that you have knowledge of autism and strategies for managing challenging behaviour effectively. You will need to be a calm and patient person who is able to maintain a positive and encouraging style of communication.

About the school and contract:
· A large school with a welcoming atmosphere and excellent provision for children with SEN
· Supportive and settled staff team
· A long-term SEN TA position to support a child with additional needs, on a 1:1 basis
· Start date: September
· 08:45 - 16:00, Monday - Friday
· GBP95-GBP110/day, dependant on experience and qualifications

The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will be:
· Experienced supporting children with additional needs on a 1:1 basis
· Confident supporting learning across the curriculum
· Experienced managing challenging behaviour
· Knowledgeable about the EYFS curriculum and expectations
· Approachable, calm and a good team player
· Available long-term
The successful SEN Teaching Assistant will have the following:

· Relevant qualification in supporting teaching and learning in schools, SEN, or relevant experience
· UK classroom experience
· Eligibility to work in the UK
· References covering the last 2 years
· A fully enhanced DBS on the online update service, or be prepared to process a new one at a cost of GBP45.80
