We are working with a local authority in Tameside to find a Facilities Manager on a permanent basis. 

Salary Range: £48,474 - £49,498  
Location: Ashton Under Lyne. Hybrid and flexible working available.  
Job Type: Full-time

We are seeking a Facilities Manager to deliver safe and efficient management of our Corporate property assets. This role is pivotal in overseeing a defined portfolio of council property assets, ensuring all aspects of operation and maintenance meet the highest standards of safety and efficiency. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing FM staff resources, budgets, and contracts to deliver defined service levels and performance standards.

Day to Day of the Role:

- Control and manage staff connected to property operations, including internal teams and contracted service providers.  

- Develop and implement a clear strategy for property maintenance and facilities management across the portfolio.  

- Procure and manage contracted service providers, monitoring performance against SLAs and KPIs.  

- Ensure properties are operated safely and efficiently in compliance with legislation.  

- Liaise with and manage tenant occupation, responding to changes in requirements in line with corporate policy.  

- Manage contract changes and variations as required.  

- Execute projects from the repairs and maintenance programme, including reactive works and service contracts.  

- Control relevant budgets and deliver services to defined service levels, coordinating performance reports, and ensuring value for money and customer satisfaction.  

- Lead on planned and ad-hoc property-related projects.  

- Work as part of the wider management team on Council priority projects and initiatives.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

- Health and safety qualification — IOSH as minimum, NEBOSH preferred.  

- Proven track record in facilities management/property management.  

- Experience managing and developing staff teams.  

- Experience managing financial budgets.  

- Experience managing large scale and complex supply chain contracts. Knowledge of statutory compliance processes.  

- Project management skills.  

- Full driving license.  

- Ability to work independently and plan personal workloads.
