Families Together Suffolk are looking to recruit a Family and Development Manager to join ourteam based in Suffolk with Hybrid working (Office and home-based). You will join us on a permanent contract, working 37 hours per week. The successful candidate will earn a competitive salary of £40,221 per annum.

Your role

As the Family and Development Manager, you will be the driving force behind the Family Support Team, ensuring the delivery and continuous improvement of our support services across Suffolk. You will work collaboratively with the Business Manager to oversee the day-to-day management of Families Together Suffolk, adhering to our governing documents and Quality Assurance Standards.

Your responsibilities

  • Organisational management: Line manager of the Family Support Team, Training Coordinator and Funding and Monitoring Staff
  • Reporting: Provide timely and comprehensive status reports to the Board of Trustees and ensure adherence to health and safety, inclusion, and diversity standards
  • Risk management: Assist in identifying and managing project risks, schedules, budgets, and external funding opportunities
  • Family Support: Maintain high standards of practice in supporting families, overseeing referrals, assessing needs, and ensuring compliance with monitoring and evaluation systems
  • Safeguarding lead: To take the lead on safeguarding for the organization, including our Charity Shop and eBay hub, ensuring compliance with relevant policies and procedures
  • Volunteer management: Effective Team Building: Ensure an effective team of volunteers, overseeing their preparation, support, and supervision
  • Training Delivery: Ensure the organization's preparation courses are delivered to a high standard for all prospective volunteers, staff, and trustees
  • Partnership and community engagement: Network within the community, liaising with referrers and other professionals, and contribute to local policy and community development
  • Promote and Develop: Promote the organization’s profile, ethos, and practice, and contribute to the overall development of Families Together Suffolk.

You will need:

Education

  • Degree in child development or related field.

Experience

  • Working with families, especially vulnerable ones
  • Commitment to supporting families to achieve their goals
  • Safeguarding children and adults
  • Handling budgets and funding applications
  • Volunteer recruitment and supervision.

Skills

  • Strong leadership and communication
  • Excellent administrative and IT skills
  • Commitment to equality and confidentiality
  • Ability to work flexibly and autonomously.

Requirements

  • A full, current driving licence and access to a car during working hours due to the nature of the job and the rural area
  • To undertake an Enhanced DBS which will be arranged by us.

We are a voluntary organisation committed to promoting the welfare of families with young children and have been operating in Suffolk since 1983. Families and communities are at the heart of everything we do. Our friendly team of staff, trustees and volunteers are spread throughout the county working in an outreach capacity with a shared base when required.

You will work from home, the office and out in the community.

We also have a charity shop base in Eye and an eBay Hub in Stowmarket.
