Female Sports Coach

  • Location: Dulwich, London
  • Job Type: Full-time
  • Salary: FTE £26,225. Actual salary £20,040 per annum

Reed Education are seeking a passionate and enthusiastic Sports Coach a team at a prestigious independent school in Dulwich. The successful candidate will work under the guidance of the Head of Sport to promote sports throughout the school, coaching boys and girls in a variety of activities and fostering a culture of inclusion, achievement, and discipline.

Day to Day of the Role:

  • Support the development of a sports culture within the curriculum and wider school life.
  • Ensure a balanced mix of activities for both boys and girls, incorporating seasonal team sports.
  • Coach and develop Sport and Recreational Activities to a high standard.
  • Design and deliver sessions catering to pupils of all abilities.
  • Lead in the coordination and development of at least one core sport.
  • Prepare pupils for regular matches and competitions against other schools.
  • Share responsibility for organising key sporting events.
  • Coordinate and develop out-of-school activities and learning opportunities.
  • Maintain consistent assessment policies and accurate records.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Understanding of Sport and PE curriculum through professional experience and personal study.
  • Strong knowledge of social and psychological elements of sports coaching and children’s learning.
  • Technical knowledge of at least 2 sports, with the ability to coach additional sports.
  • Experience of coaching/teaching within KS2, KS1, Foundation, and Nursery ages.
  • Outstanding coaching skills with a commitment to professional development.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team and contribute to the school’s objectives.

Desirable:

  • Coaching qualification(s) from recognised national bodies or equivalent.
  • PGCE and/or QTS status.
  • University Degree.
  • Experience within a Preparatory or Primary School setting.
  • Full driving license with D1 classification.
