Quirky and outgoing young woman with an acquired brain injury (ABI) who is bright, able, and independently minded requires a Support Worker who is fun, friendly, and who has similar perspectives and interests to help her with her planning, memory, organising social activities, assisting with daily living skills, and developing her social network. This young woman is a psychology graduate, and is physically fit and able, but experiences fatigue. Ideally, the successful candidate will be able to support her as her peer and help her to live life to the full.

We are inviting applications from candidates with an empowering approach and who are passionate about promoting independence and ongoing rehabilitation and who are able to recognise when additional support is required.

It is preferable that applicants are a short travel distance to Cowley.

We are looking for someone to work every Monday and Friday 9am - 5pm.

16 hours per week.

We would consider splitting the role, and having two separate applicants each working only one of the days per week each. Please get in touch to discuss.

The successful candidate will be friendly, but able to recognise and promote her independence, supporting her in her decision making and problem solving. They will have an ability to recognise her strengths and abilities, and to promote her independence.

"My ideal support worker would be a woman who shares some of my interests, including: dancing, films, going to the cinema, reading, stimulating conversations, crafts and is able to support me to lead a full, rewarding, and safe life."

Good rate of pay available for the right candidate - starting at £13.50 per hour.

We believe this post is exempt under the Equality Act 2010 and that there is a genuine occupational requirement for this post holder to be female due to the personal nature of the work.
