Field Maintenance Engineer, Fire Detection & Suppression Systems

Location: This employer cover nationwide in the UK, however, Engineers are assigned customer sites with home location in mind with the majority of sites being based in London / Midlands areas. Ideally candidates will live within 1.5 drive from Thetford in Norfolk IP24.

Core responsibilities will typically include:

• Working in an Engineering Team of 7 visiting sites across the UK (travel and accommodation paid as required)
• Attend customer sites, perform maintenance or fault diagnostics and repair of fire suppression electrical detection systems & Mechanical systems.
• Maintaining a professional relationship with customers
• Performing all maintenance and repair work thoroughly, in a safe manner.
• Ensuring all paperwork is completed via an issued tablet/iPad.
• Call Out Duties. Report all callouts to the Office as soon as possible. During nominated call out periods ensure phone is kept on and is responded to in a timely fashion.
• Equipment. Ensuring that all work equipment is maintained, including Ladder checks and tags, PAT testing, Calibrations, and associated pre-use checks.
• On call rota 1 weekend in 7 (time is given back in lieu)

Expected Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

• Fire Suppression / Detection Maintenance experience (Water Mist is ideal)
• Experience of field-based work.
• Hold a valid UK driving licence.
• Qualified to a minimum standard of level 3 in Electrical (ideally hold 17 th Edition).
• Excellent communications skills.
• Strong time management skills.
• Proficient with MS Office and using smart handheld technology.
• Hold a CSCS card for H&S ideally or happy to obtain and pass H&S Test.
• Willingness to be flexible on hours, approx. 2 overnight hotel stays per month (all expenses paid).
