Position: Field Service Engineer

Location: Hertfordshire

Reports to: Service Manager

Salary: £30,000 - £32,000

Hours: 45-hour week

Role Overview:

Our client is seeking a skilled Field Service Engineer to join their team. Responsibilities include attending customer sites for repairs, scheduled maintenance, and Thorough Examinations (where authorized), as well as generating chargeable work. Excellent communication skills are essential.

Key Responsibilities:

- Diagnose and repair faults at customer sites.

- Perform scheduled maintenance.

- Comply with site instructions, permits, and health and safety guidelines.

- Complete detailed job sheets and client portals.

- Advise controllers on chargeable work and quotes.

- Maintain a polite manner with customers and colleagues.

- Assist colleagues with repairs.

- Keep the company vehicle presentable and stocked.

- Be flexible with working hours and available for on-call cover.

- Comply with road safety regulations.

- Conduct Thorough Examinations where trained.

- Perform any other reasonable duties.

Qualifications:

- Experience in a similar role

- Strong diagnostic and repair skills

- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

- Valid driver’s license
