Finance Assistant

Our client is a well-established manufacturing firm in Guildford and they are currently looking for an ambitious Finance Assistant, initially on a temporary basis but with a view to becoming a permanent member of the team within 1-2 months. Finance Assistant - About The Role

In this role you will be working alongside the Finance Manager and will be supporting with the daily running of the finance function.

Responsibilities will include:

Sales Ledger and Credit Control

• Book daily sales receipts (40-50 transactions/day)
• Allocate payments and reconcile sales ledger accounts
• Issue monthly statements of accounts to customers
• Investigate queries and outstanding debts
• Contact clients via email and phone to collect payments

Purchase Ledger and Supplier Management

• Match purchase invoices with purchase orders
• Obtain approvals for service invoices and bills
• Reconcile supplier accounts
• Book credit card transactions and process payments
• Handle expense claims and PayPal transactions

Nominal Ledger

• Assist with weekly bank reconciliations
• Reconcile PayPal activities to online sales ledger
• Run sales reports and support month-end and year-end processes

Ad hoc Projects

• Participate in various projects as needed

The successful Finance Assistant will have/be:

• Previous experience in a similar position
• AAT or QBE candidates will be considered
• Attention to detail
• Immediately available or available at short notice
• Car driver due to location
