Finance Assistant
We are looking for an experienced finance assistant on behalf of our client in St Columb. Full time, Monday - Friday, 09:00am - 17:00pm.
You will support the Operations Director in completing:
- Quarterly closings
- Assisting in the design and implementation of new financial systems and processes.
The main duties will include:
- Preparation of the quarterly management accounts and the reconciliation and preparation of lead reconciliation schedules for all balance sheet accounts, with initial emphasis on pensions, retentions and their collection
- Verifying and invoicing accrued retentions.
- Invoicing.
- Payment runs.
Credit control
- The collection of specific nonperforming debtor balances
- The monitoring and control of outstanding payment notices
- Assisting in the development of KPI’s and KPI reporting.
- Preparation of monthly applications/valuations, their administration to agreed payment schedules, managing the resolution of any queries, chasing overdue payment notices and ensuring the invoicing is timely, accurate and complete.
- Spreadsheet (Access DB where applicable) design.
- Preparation of Invoices
Essential experience includes:
- Advanced spreadsheet user (Pivot tables, lookups, Get & Transform)
- Experience of working in the finance functions
- Working knowledge of systems and processes of financial control
- At least to final year ACCA, CIMA or equivalent (including by experience)
- Full driving licence
Desirable skills include:
- An understanding of Construction Accounting
- Previous experience of reconciliation works
- Credit control
- Knowledge of stock control systems
- Access DB / Power BI / SQL
- Xero
