Finance Assistant

Robert Half are delighted to be working with one of Scotland's leading home improvement specialists based in Dunfermline who are seeking a Finance Assistant with a particular focus on purchase ledger. This opportunity has come to the market to replace an existing employee who has moved on.

This opportunity offers the chance to be a part of a long standing and highly supportive finance team. The business believes in developing within and will give you the opportunity to grow and develop within the role. This opportunity is relevant to someone with finance experience, ideally having gained a minimum of 1 year experience.

Your duties will involve supporting their Supplier Payments section with developing into the wider range of activities carried out by their finance team.

Key Responsibilities

• Processing a high volume of invoices accurately and efficiently
• Coding of invoices accurately and sending for internal authorisation
• Reconciliation of Purchase Ledger accounts and supplier statements
• Liaison with suppliers on any account/payment issues
• Liaison with internal departments on receipt/approval of all invoices or credit notes
• Ensuring all accounts data input is completed on time to allow accounting cycle deadlines to be met
• Deal with any internal queries relating to purchase ledger
• File and archive documents to facilitate easy retrieval
• Bank Reconciliations

Experience Required

• At least one year experience in a finance environment
• Solid knowledge of accounts payable processes and procedures
• Attention to detail and accuracy to data entry
• Excellent communication and organisational skills
• HNC/ HND level qualifications in a related subject
• Desire for career development

Salary will be within the range of £27,000 - £29,000 including a range of benefits.
