Job Title: Finance Controller

Location: Birmingham City Centre

Salary: £27,000 - £30,000 DOE

Job Overview:

Our client are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Controller to join our dynamic financial lettings team in Birmingham City Centre. As a Finance Controller, you will play a critical role in managing the financial operations of our estate agency, ensuring the smooth flow of rental income, and maintaining accurate financial records. Your expertise will contribute to the financial health and success of our company.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Financial Management:

- Manage received rental income and ensure timely transfer of funds to landlords' accounts.

- Oversee the reconciliation of rental payments and address any discrepancies promptly.

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of all financial transactions related to lettings.

2. Accounts Preparation:

- Prepare company accounts, including profit and loss statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.

- Compile management accounts to provide insights into financial performance for internal review.

3. Software Utilisation:

- Efficiently use software packages such as Jupix and Xero for financial management and reporting.

- Ensure data integrity and accuracy within the software systems.

4. Compliance and Reporting:

- Ensure compliance with relevant financial regulations and company policies.

- Prepare and submit financial reports as required by senior management and external stakeholders.

- Assist with audits and provide necessary documentation and explanations.

5. Team Collaboration:

- Work closely with other members of the financial lettings team to ensure cohesive and efficient operations.

- Provide financial insights and support to the lettings team to aid in decision-making.

Qualifications and Skills:

- Education: Accounting, or a related field. Professional accounting qualification (e.g., ACCA, CIMA) is highly desirable.

- Experience: Proven experience as a Finance Controller or in a similar financial management role, preferably within the real estate or lettings industry.

- Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial management software, specifically Jupix and Xero.

- Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to identify financial discrepancies and propose effective solutions.

- Attention to Detail: Meticulous attention to detail to ensure accuracy in financial records and reports.

- Communication: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact effectively with team members, clients, and senior management.

- Time Management: Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
