Our client, a prestigious international Lloyd’s insurance and reinsurance broker based in the heart of the City, has an excellent opportunity for a Finance Manager. This is a newly created position within the business and will be responsible for managing an accounts team of six. The main purpose of this role is to act as a trusted advisor to the Finance Director, and to ensure that all regulatory and reporting requirements are completed within strict time-frames for the companies within the Group and the UK holding company.

Core duties will include:

  • Managing a team of six - x1 Management Accountant, x1 Finance Assistant and x4 IBA Accounts Technicians
  • Setting targets, KPIs and conducting staff appraisals
  • Ensuring the team understands and adheres to FCA regulations, Anti Bribery & Money Laundering guidelines
  • Chairing monthly meetings with all divisions to discuss current position on unallocated cash,funding, payable credits, aged debt and doubtful brokerage
  • Preparing various reports for the Finance Director and for monthly board meetings
  • Monitoring and improving the IBA function/processes & procedures to ensure that credit control policies are maintained
  • Meeting FCA monthly, quarterly and annual reporting requirements
  • Month end Management Accounts and Revenue analysis to the UK Boards, Divisional Heads and Head Office (US)
  • Reviewing and authorising weekly office payment files for all Group Companies
  • Developing and maintaining effective reporting from GP, including automated statutory reporting for audit, FCA reporting, MI, payroll and VAT exports/reporting
  • Finance Lead for Group migration to new Broking system in late 2024 / early 2025
  • Annual reporting for audit - managing auditor expectations by liaising with auditors and providing information to resolve any queries

To be considered for this exciting opportunity, it is imperative that you have worked within the insurance sector, and have an excellent understanding of FCA. RMAR and CASS Client Money Rules.
