Location: Chelmsford (Hybrid working - 1-2 days a week in the office)

Reed Finance are supporting our client, who are seeking a standalone Finance Manager with expertise in Irish VAT, VIES, and Intrastat returns. This role involves managing accounting queries, reconciling quarterly accounts, tracking invoices and payments, reconciling bank accounts, and overseeing aged debtors. The position offers hybrid working, with 1 day a week in their Chelmsford office and 1 day in Fleet Street office.

Day-to-day of the role

• Manage and oversee the preparation and submission of Irish VAT, VIES, and Intrastat returns.
• Handle accounting queries and liaise with our outsourced accountants, Grant Thornton, to ensure accurate reconciliation of quarterly accounts.
• Monitor and track invoices and payments, ensuring accurate financial records.
• Perform bank account reconciliations and manage cash flow effectively.
• Oversee aged debtors and implement strategies to improve debt recovery.
• Collaborate with the finance team to maintain financial policies and procedures.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Proven experience as a Finance Manager, particularly with Irish VAT, VIES, and Intrastat returns.
• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting.
• Experience in reconciling accounts and working with outsourced accountants.
• Proficient in tracking invoices and payments without direct involvement in making payments.
• Skilled in bank reconciliations and cash flow management.
• Ability to manage aged debtors and improve debt recovery processes.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
