Are you a Finance Manager, used to working in a fast-paced environment and looking to enhance you existing skill set in a purpose focused organisation?  Are you looking for a part-time role, 3 days per week? Benefits include 27 days annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata).  (3 days of leave to be used for office closure during Christmas) Auto-enrolment of pension scheme, plus training and development opportunities.

This is a Part-time role, Monday, Wednesday and Friday, 24 hours per week

Salary: £24,000 to £27,428 per annum depending on experience (FTE £35,000 - £40,000)

Our client is a UK based charity which gets young people enthusiastic about science and engineering by challenging them to design, build and race an electric car.

They supply age appropriate Kit Cars, which can be built in school, college or elsewhere and raced at motorsport venues at organised events. Alternatively, older participants can design and build their own car to our regulations. Our client's challenge uses the excitement of motorsport to inspire young people to excel in Science, Technology, Engineering and Maths (STEM).

  • We work with over 700 teams throughout the UK and hold 30+ regional events and an International Final every year.
  • More than 10,000 students take part each year, from primary school age through to university.

A growing number of international teams participate in our events and the USA, Iberia, and Benelux run programmes under the our clients license.

The Finance Manager is a significant role at the Charity, with a high degree of responsibility for all aspects of finance management.

Sitting as part of the Finance Committee, the successful candidate will support in guiding the Board of Trustees with all financial matters in addition to supporting the Charity with governance and compliance.

It is essential for this role to build and maintain key stakeholder relationships both internally and externally, ensuring that all aspects of the Charity's financial lifecycle are completed in line with processes and reporting standards.

This role is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is used to working in a fast-paced environment and is looking to enhance their existing skill set in a purpose focused organisation.

Key Responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Daily processing and issuing of all sales invoices;
  • Managing all creditors and debtors;
  • Preparing trial balances, quarterly VAT returns, online filing and financial reports for management meetings;
  • Processing payroll (monthly, day rat and hourly salaries) and managing the auto enrolment pension process;
  • Liaising with the Charity's accountants on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis to ensure compliance; and
  • Reconciling staff and credit card expenses.
  • Creating and managing of the management accounts
  • Creation of Budgets with the CEO
  • Management of accounting systems

 Essential Experience Required:

  • Experience managing a finance function in a Charity setting.
  • Accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA or AAT).
  • Ability to present, communicate and report on financial information.
  • Managing and creating budgets.
  • Stock management.

Desirable Experience

  • Experience of working within the motorsport industry.

The ideal candidate may be required to work unsociable hours when required and demonstrate a commitment to the goals and drivers behind our client's philosophy.

The successful candidate must be able to pass an enhanced DBS clearance process.
