Mitchell Adam have recently put pen to paper to confirm their continued collaboration with an established organisation in the construction sector in Dudley. This established organisation has gone through a sustained period of growth in recent years and despite economic uncertainty within the industry as a result of the pandemic, has continued to grow and defy the odds. As a result of this growth, their finance function has had its headcount increased in response to the increase in volume. Due to the growth within the finance team, the organisation is looking to ensure that the communication within the team remains strong and consistent, they are looking to bring on a Finance Manager into the team, which will help with the development of the team, and bolster the communications between senior management and the rest of the finance department. As a Finance Manager you will be an integral part of the organisation. The office is easily accessible via car due to its on-site parking, and its close proximity to transport hubs allows public transport to be an option when commuting.

As Finance Manager, you will oversee the production of the management account packs for the FD and CFO. This oversight will see you working closely with your colleagues and assisting with their duties, providing commentary and advice. You will also be a crucial part of the budgeting and forecasting process, producing the annual budgets and being an integral player in the re-forecasting process. In this position, some of the key components of the role will be your oversight of your staff. You will oversee a team of five accounting professionals, who will need varying levels of assistance. Your responsibilities will include providing feedback to these individuals and ensuring they are aware of the ways that they can increase their output or productivity. As Finance Manager, your thoughts and findings will be valued by the FD, you will be an integral player in senior management meetings where your opinions and commentary will be heard and any suggestions you may have will be considered.

Skills Required
  • To have experience producing management packs for senior management, including completing variance analysis, working on the P&L, posting journals and completing reconciliations.
  • To be able to be versatile in your communication style, in this role you will be interacting with your staff, individuals from other departments and senior management. The way you communicate will vary and it is important to be able to communicate effectively regardless of who you are interacting with.
  • To have experience with the budgeting and forecasting process, as this is a crucial part of the position it is key to have prior experience.
  • To be either considered "Part-Qualified" as a result of your CIMA or ACCA examinations, or to consider yourself "Qualified by Experience"
