ASA are currently recruiting for a Finance officer to work alongside their client in the public sector for a period of 6 months based in Edinburgh.


Key Responsibilities:
· Assist with daily finance processes including prisoner fund reconciliations, canteen and pin phone reconciliations, and month-end financial activities.
· Provide support and advice to Cashiers and Finance Managers, including on-site support.
· Analyse establishment monthly returns, identify areas of non-compliance, and highlight potential risks.
· Authorise establishment bank line payments, prisoner funds returns, and cashbook payments.
· Manage company cashbook month and year-end processes.
· Assist with month and year-end reconciliations, ensuring compliance with Financial Policy and Guidelines.
· Facilitate detailed audit scrutiny and assist auditors with their inquiries.
· Provide training to cashiers and relief cashiers as needed.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:
· Hold a financial qualification at HNC level or above or be willing to work towards such as AAT or CAT.
· Extensive experience in reconciliation with a proven ability to resolve issues promptly.
· Previous experience in a finance environment using finance systems.
· Knowledge and experience of cashbook management.
