Financial Accountant

Castlefield Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced Interim Financial Accountant to join a reputable council. This is an exciting opportunity for a skilled financial professional to contribute to a dynamic team and make a tangible impact within the public sector.

Key Responsibilities:

• Overseeing the preparation of financial statements and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
• Managing the council's budgeting and forecasting processes
• Providing financial advice and support to various departments
• Conducting financial analysis and reporting to aid in strategic decision-making
• Ensuring effective financial controls are in place and adhered to

Personal

• Qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) with substantial post-qualification experience is desirable but not essential
• Previous experience working within a local government or public sector environment
• Strong technical accounting skills and a thorough understanding of relevant legislation and financial reporting standards
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities effectively
• Competitive daily rate of £500 (umbrella)
