Our client are a leading company dedicated to providing exceptional service and innovative solutions to their clients. They are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Statutory Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis.

Job Description:

As a Statutory Accountant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial reporting. You will be responsible for preparing statutory accounts, managing audits, and ensuring compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional to make a significant impact within a dynamic and growing organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and review statutory accounts in compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Manage the annual audit process, liaising with external auditors and ensuring timely and accurate completion
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards
  • Prepare and submit financial statements and reports to regulatory bodies
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records
  • Provide technical accounting advice and support to the finance team
  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts
  • Support the finance team with ad hoc financial analysis and projects as required

Requirements:

  • ACA/ACCA/CIMA qualified or equivalent
  • Proven experience in a statutory accounting role, preferably within the insurance industry
  • Strong knowledge of accounting standards and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with IFRS and UK GAAP
