Financial Controller
Financial Controller (9 month contract) - Nottingham - £50k-£60k
Benjamin Edwards are recruiting for a local charity in Nottingham on a fixed term contract for 9 months. The ideal candidate will be an experienced Financial Controller with experience of managing a small team. The role will be full time hours and office based. As the Financial Controller, you will be responsible for delivering the financial and management reporting, managing the finance team, and supporting the Finance Director on a variety of initiatives and projects.
The role of the Financial Controller
- Supporting the Finance Director and Executive team
- Managing a small finance team and supporting the development of the Finance Manager
- Prepare periodic financial statements, including profit and loss accounts, cash flows, variance analysis and commentaries on a timely basis
- Lead and manage the finance team to deliver the monthly management accounts and wider financial support to the group. Full consolidated accounts P&L, Balance Sheet and cashflow.
- Ensure accurate VAT returns are submitted
- Responsible for Payroll and PAYE
- Treasury Management
- Managing the annual statutory reporting for the charity, including liaising with auditors to adhere to current reporting standards
- Supporting and developing projects to update systems for accurate financial and non-financial transactions
- Developing business processes and accounting policies to enhance internal controls
The ideal candidate for the role of Financial Controller
- Experienced Finance Manager/Financial Controller
- ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualified or qualified by experience
- Firsthand experience of planning, budgeting and forecasting
- Experience of leading a team of staff responsible for the production of management accounts
