Financial Controller / Accountant

Financial Controller / Accountant opportunity in Coventry. Great visibility as number two to the Finance Director. Early Friday finish! Accountancy Practice candidates also considered.

Reporting directly to and in support of the Finance Director, as Financial Controller / Accountant, you will support the wider business in delivering excellence in financial control. This all-encompassing role will focus on all areas of financial accounting with a particular emphasis on general ledger accounting, master data management, fixed assets, treasury control and tax matters.

Responsibilities:

• Lead and participate in monthly and annual close
• General Ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations and inter-company recharges
• Handle all treasury functions including cash management, liquidity forecasting, daily bank reconciliations, administration & banking relationships
• Responsible for all areas of tax compliance with accurate on-time submissions for VAT and Corporation Tax
• Own the fixed asset register
• Responsibility for the company master data together with tracking and reporting on key metrics
• Reporting and supporting Group Finance at the European HQ including inter-company recharges & reconciliations.

Requirements:

• Proven experience in a finance function, perhaps as a Financial Controller / Accountant, Finance Manager or similar, with a focus on general ledger financial accounting, month end, tax & treasury
• Own the role, able to support and be a reliable Number 2 to the Finance Director - be their 'right-hand' person
• Strong MS Excel skills (pivot tables, vlookups etc)
• Any ERP systems experience beneficial (Oracle, SAP etc)
• Supportive team player, efficient with strong attention to detail
• Confident communication skills at all business levels, both internally and externally
• Organised and proactive, able to meet deadlines.
