Reed Public Sector is actively recruiting for a permanent Financial Controller for a Charity in Berkshire.

Overall Role Purpose

The Financial Controller helps people with sight loss to live the life they choose by maintaining strong financial governance both in relation to day-to-day running of the Charity and strategic planning, ensuring effective use of the donor pound and long-term sustainability of the organisation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop the tax, financial reporting and accounting strategies to maximise charity’s ability to deliver services on a long term sustainable basis.
  • Identify and develop strategies, alongside different levels of the organisation, to improve the overall tax efficiency of the charity.
  • Establishing and be responsible for the financial governance framework through which the organisation develops efficient and effective controls to run its day to day operations
  • Embed a risk-based controls approach, improving the engagement with and compliance of Financial Policies and Procedures throughout the charity.

Education/Qualifications
Essential

ACCA/ACA/CIMA qualified finance professional, to be able to confidently deal with complex financial and technical disclosure standards. Job-Related Experience

  • Significant range of post-qualification experience
  • Change management skillset.
  • Coaching and developing staff.
  • Preparation of statutory, consolidated accounts. Working with external bodies such as HRMC, External and Internal Auditors.
