Financial Controller

A reputable Hull based organisation is looking to recruit a confident and diligent professional to join their team in the capacity of Financial Controller.

The successful candidate will support the Finance Director in a variety of key tasks, ensuring their duties are completed on time and to the required standard.The role and function of the team requires strong communication and relationship building skills along with the ability to process quickly and accurately.
Your key responsibilities will include:

• Overseeing all finance and accounting operations
• Supporting the preparation of annual budget, financial forecasts & variance analysis.
• Supporting the management of cash flow.
• Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and statutory law & coordinating the preparation of regulatory reports.
• Act as audit liaison
• Identification of any cost saving opportunities
• Supporting month end and year end reports and processing journals (income and expense accruals, prepayment and deferred income)
• Reconciliation of bank statements within accounting system.
• UK VAT return and liaison with VAT agents in respect of EU VAT registrations

What are we looking for?

• Part or fully CIMA/ACCA qualified
• Competent in finance systems/software and proficient in Excel
• Good knowledge of management accounts (accruals, prepayments, etc.)
