Financial Controller
Location: Middlesbrough
Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week
Holidays: 20 days annual leave plus statutory bank holidays
Key Responsibilities:
- Support day-to-day accounting activities.
- Conduct intercompany reconciliations.
- Oversee the loan book for various projects, including monitoring interest and capital repayments and producing monthly repayment forecasts.
- Perform daily reviews of all bank accounts, including downloading monthly statements for all companies.
- Handle sales invoicing and purchase orders through QuickBooks.
- Manage data entry and reporting for projects in QuickBooks.
- Review creditors, produce weekly reports, and set up payments on a weekly basis.
- Undertake ad-hoc duties as requested by the Finance Manager/Directors.
- Develop and produce financial management reports for Senior Management and budget holders, highlighting variances and financial risks.
- Assist in the creation of budgets and long-term profit and loss forecasts for all business areas.
- Manage the company's cash flow requirements.
- Ensure the completeness and accuracy of all finance records.
- Lead the development of project costing and other costing modules for planning, including support services, trend analysis, and risk identification/mitigation.
- Assist in the re-organisation of finance data within the shared drive.
- Centrally manage company records and create a register.
- Collaborate with the accounting team to ensure all documents are provided for accurate bookkeeping.
- Set up and manage business performance KPI metrics across sales/lettings and other trading areas.
Person Specification:
- Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
- Highly numerate with an excellent grasp of financial concepts.
- Excellent language skills, with the ability to communicate complex financial information clearly.
- Excellent computing skills, proficient in QuickBooks and other financial software.
- Advanced Microsoft Office skills, particularly in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
