Our client, an innovative property management group based in Ilford, Essex, seeks a Financial Controller to run its finance function on a day to day basis. Reporting to the board, the successful candidate will be an instrumental part of the management team advising the Directors and Operations from a finance perspective.

Duties will include:

Managing Finance and Accounting Operations:

  • Preparing monthly management accounts for all group companies.
  • Coordinating and directing the preparation of budgets and financial forecasts.
  • Financial reporting to the board.
  • Day to day management of finance team.
  • Liaison with external advisers.

Internal Controls and Compliance:

  • Maintaining internal controls over financial reporting.
  • Review systems processes and controls in order to make improvements
  • Ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and tax filings including corporation tax, PAYE and VAT.

Additional Duties:

Supporting month-end and year-end close processes.Developing and documenting business processes and accounting policies to strengthen internal controls.

Requirements and Skills:

  • Proven working experience as a Financial Controller.
  • 5+ years of overall combined accounting and finance experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of accounting principles and procedures.
