Financial Controller

Consumer Additions are partnering with a fast growing, start up FMCG business to help them recruit a Financial Controller into the team.

Roles and responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain financial models to support strategic planning and decision-making.
• Analyse financial data, trends, and key performance indicators to provide insights to the leadership team.
• Oversee the reconciliation of financial transactions in the Xero accounting system.
• Ensure accuracy and completeness in the reconciliation of bank statements, accounts payable, accounts receivable, and other financial records within Xero.
• Lead the annual budgeting process and regular forecasting activities.
• Monitor and analyse the Cost of Goods (COGs) on an ongoing basis.
• Conduct detailed reviews of production costs, materials, and overheads to ensure accuracy and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide insightful reports and recommendations to senior management based on the COGs analysis.
• Facilitate the reporting process related to B Corporation certification requirements.
• Collaborate with relevant stakeholders to maintain compliance with B Corporation standards.
• Prepare and present accurate and timely financial reports, including monthly, quarterly, and annual statements and balance sheets.
• Conduct regular audits to identify and mitigate financial risks.
• Manage cash flow and liquidity to support daily operations and strategic initiatives.

The ideal candidate:

• Qualified accouuntant

• Progressive experience in finance and accounting roles

• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, accounting principles and financial reporting

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

• Proficiency in financial software and Microsoft Excel

• Experience with XERO
