Financial Controller

My client, based in Southeast Hertfordshire, is looking for a dynamic Financial Controller who is looking to combine both accounting and commercial skill sets. They are looking for an experienced Financial Controller who can oversee the financial management of the business whilst managing a small finance team.
You should possess exceptional commercial acumen and strategic business insight and be able to advise and implement recommendations to achieve the most profitable results for the business. Reporting directly to the CEO, this position involves a broad spectrum of operational responsibilities and requires a wide range of knowledge and experience. This is niche business within the construction sector and presents a superb opportunity to work closely with a CEO and drive commercial success.

• Managing a small team
• Producing quarterly management accounts
• Cash flow management
• WIP management
• HMRC Reporting, quarterly/annual VAT returns, corporation tax returns
• Profit and revenue reporting
• Review of credit function, debt reduction and cash allocation
• Oversight of invoicing process, ensuring accuracy and timely invoicing to clients
• Managing the relationship with the bank
• Analysis and cost/project reporting, providing commentary on trends and making recommendation for improvement
• Preparation of year end Audit file for external accountants
• Provide key advice to CEO on financial performance
• Identify automation opportunities to drive efficiency within the finance function

The core of this role is to monitor the ongoing project, work in progress and cashflow. You will need to work closely with the Project Managers, understanding project progress, to develop a strong and robust cashflow forecast.

You will be a Qualified Accountant, have experience of managing a team and be an excellent communicator with both finance and non-financial management. Experience of Access Dimensions would be an advantage.

This role is based on site 5 days a week (8-5). The salary range is £75-85,000.
