Financial Controller

SF Recruitment are working with a superb up & coming business in Leicestershire who are seeking a Financial Controller to join their business on a full time, permanent & remote basis. The Financial Controller will report directly into the Directors with exposure to all areas of the business & have the ability to make a real impact and drive business decision making. As the Financial Controller you will oversee a team of 3 & be a key part of the senior leadership team.

Duties of the Financial Controller include:
- Production of timely and accurate monthly management accounts (comprising full profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow) including variance reports and commentary
- Managing the month end process, closing ledgers and ensuring / checking accuracy of data, balance sheet reconciliations (prepayments/accruals/fixed assets)
- Managing payroll for staff using Xero
- Managing the company's VAT, PAYE, Pension reconciliations and returns
- Assisting in the development of the business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
- Assisting in the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts and report variances
- Monitoring cashflow
- Unaudited year-end accounts preparation
- Overseeing general financial commitments at a basic level - insurance policies, client contracts, general queries from staff etc.

Requirements
We're looking for somebody who can quickly get to grips with our culture despite being fully remote - We're not reinventing the wheel, but as a fast-moving business working in an industry full of quirks, you need to be able to quickly adapt and understand our financial pulse. Xero experience is essential.
- Very good understanding of time and services-based businesses
- Experience within the marketing/advertising sector (Advantageous)
- Qualified Accountant - ACA, ACMA, ACCA or qualified by experience
- Commercial and analytical approach
- Advanced/Strong Excel skills and experience
- Good, accurate attention to detail
