We are looking for a qualified accountant with a passion for financial leadership and sustainability. We are working with a world-leading sustainability company of the future. Based in Oxfordshire, we are searching for a Financial Controller to support our ambitious growth plans and drive financial excellence.

Role Responsibilities:

  • Lead and mentor the finance team, ensuring development and performance.
  • Prepare timely and accurate financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements.
  • Oversee monthly management accounts, year-end audits, and statutory accounts.
  • Develop and implement improvements in financial processes and internal controls.
  • Manage budgeting and forecasting, coordinating with department managers for accuracy.
  • Analyse financial data to identify trends and opportunities for cost savings or revenue enhancement.
  • Direct tax planning and management efforts, including VAT, R&D tax credits, CIS, and payroll taxes.
  • Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards.
  • Provide financial insights and recommendations to support strategic planning.

Essential Skills and Qualifications:

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA) with an excellent exam record.
  • 5-7 years post-qualification experience from a top 5 firm.
  • Demonstrated experience at the Head of Finance/Financial Controller level.
  • Strong foundation in technical accounting and thorough understanding of UK GAAP.
  • Previous experience with system and process improvements is highly desirable.
  • Independent, proactive & ambitious, and capable of managing multiple priorities.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills with a hands-on approach when necessary.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle are required.
