Financial Controller

We are recruiting the Financial Controller for an FMCG client based in Bedfordshire. Our client is an international business distributing globally with a complex model of operation. As such we need to appoint a high calibre Financial Controller to plug a number of finance gaps, meaning that there are a few non-negotiables that need evidencing in any potential candidates:

A qualified (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or equivalent) Finance Manager, Financial Controller, Head of Finance.

• Relevant sector exposure i.e., FMCG, Retail etc.
• Strong leadership and stakeholder management skills.
• Foreign exchange, multicurrency.

Reporting to the Finance Director your responsibilities will include:

• Day-to-day management of the Finance Department including the leadership of a small team.
• Month and year-end close, the production of financial statements and consolidated monthly management accounts.
• Supporting the Finance Director with all budgeting, forecasting and planning activity.
• Cashflow forecasting using a 13 week cashflow forecast.
• Manage, train and motivate a small finance team.
• Foreign exchange and treasury management.
• VAT and Corporation Tax.
• Drive the continuous improvement of end-to-end accounting practices.

Your profile:

• Determined, driven, resilient and enthusiastic.
• An excellent communicator,interpersonally strong with the ability to manage strong internal stakeholders.
  • Qualified Accountant with experience of working in an SME environment with specific exposure to a relevant sector.
  • Strong leadership profile, able to manage, motivate and mentor a small finance team.
  • Technically strong (FRS / IFRS) with experience of cashflow management - treasury / fx / multicurrency.

Working pattern - 4 days in the office.
