Financial Controller - Mostly Fully Remote - £75,000 - Mansfield

Perfect opportunity for a Financial Controller to manage and oversee financial performance across a c£20m company at the forefront of health technology for over 30 years and its associated entities.

This role offers the unique benefit of being nearly fully remote, providing flexibility while maintaining responsibility for critical financial operations. You'll lead a team of four, managing month-end results, statutory financial reporting, and ensuring a robust control environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the delivery of monthly consolidated financial reports and results.
  • Manage all aspects of statutory financial reporting, including compliance with accounting standards and tax obligations.
  • Lead the preparation of yearly financial statements and the external audit process.
  • Manage a team of four direct reports: Assistant Financial Accountant, Treasury, Accounts Payable, and a Financial Analyst.
  • Conduct commercial financial analysis and special projects to support business cases.
  • Implement strategies to enhance business profitability and financial performance.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory laws and financial regulations.
  • Drive improvements in systems, processes, internal controls, and reporting across the business.
  • Act as a technical expert for accounting standards and provide support for Microsoft Dynamics.

Requirements

  • ACA, ACCA, or CIMA qualified.
  • Experience in a top 4 or top 10 audit firm, with a strong preference for candidates with Big 4 experience.
  • Proven track record in financial accounting, including statutory reporting and ledger reconciliation.
  • Management reporting and financial analysis experience.
  • Prior experience managing and guiding a team.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamics is highly desirable.
  • Strong control environment management experience.
