Financial Controller

Accountable Executive is looking to recruit a Financial Controller ( number one in finance role ) for one of our fast growing and highly successful clients based in Cheshire. Reporting directly into the Managing Director you will mentor and drive your team to provide high level financial support, ensuring strong financial controls are adhered to and your insightful financial commentary will enable the SLT to make informed and commercially astute decisions.
Duties and responsibilities will include but not limited to :

• Overseeing the preparation of the monthly management accounts, including variance analysis for review by the Managing Director.
• Manage a small finance team.
• Ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the monthly board report and MI pack, including EBITDA reporting and a 3 month cash forecast.
• Responsible for monthly stock reporting, including stock provisions and adjustments, whilst being able to explain the monthly movement to maximise profitability and reduce costs.
• Work closely with other departments to prepare financial budgets and forecasts.
• Involvement in the banking relationship and taking ownership of the foreign exchange process for the business.
• Daily cashflow management, providing daily updates to business Directors.
• Oversee the monthly balance sheet reconciliations to ensure robust controls to support future growth.
• Manage outsourced payroll provider and pension schemes.
• Lead the annual audit, liaising with the external auditors to ensure a smooth process through to filing with Companies House.
• Manage all statutory requirements for the business, including VAT, Corporation Tax submissions and confirmation statements.
• Oversee AP/AR teams to maximise cashflow generation.
• Main point of contact for the annual insurance renewal to ensure that the business has adequate cover.
• Responsible for new asset financing to generate working capital.
• Oversee and manage new capex sign-off process to increase internal control.
• Assist the operational team in driving efficiencies, margin and cost analysis and commercial reports to increase profit, output and performance.
• Continuous review of the current financial systems, controls and processes making improvements to support the company's growth aspirations whilst optimising profit and cash flow.
• Involvement and leading adhoc projects as required.

The successful candidate will:

• be qualified - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
• have strong analytical skills and high levels for attention to detail
• have the ability to identify areas of risk and cost saving initiatives
• have a good understanding of budgeting and forecasting
• be qualified - ACA/ACCA/CIMA
• be an advanced Excel user

Salary

• 75K-90K DOE plus benefits
