The Opportunity:
An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Finance Manager/Financial Controller to join a profitable and interesting industrial SME business based in Thirsk, North Yorkshire. As part of a small team, the Financial Controller will have full responsibility for the Finance function, providing lots of variety as the role covers end to end finance. 

Main duties/responsibilities:
  • Day to day accounting operations;
  • Financial reporting - preparation of monthly management accounts and annual statutory accounts; 
  • Treasury management including Forex transactions;
  • Leading the audit; 
  • Maintaining internal controls; 
  • Budgeting and forecasting; 
  • Supporting the business with financial strategy and decision-making processes; and
  • Ad-hoc duties e.g. supporting the business across various functions such as procurement and sales

You will be/have:
  • A qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)
  • Proven experience as a Finance Manager/Controller 
  • Comfortable taking a hands-on approach 
  • A strong team player 
  • Capable of running the finance function autonomously and managing one direct report
  • Sage 50 experience an advantage, but not essential

Benefits:
  • Salary of up to £55,000
  • 25 days' holiday plus bank holidays
  • Working hours 8.30am - 5pm Monday to Thursday with an option to leave early on a Friday depending on workload (degree of flexibility on start/finish times if required)
