This stand alone role is central to managing financial operations within a construction business and supporting the company. Reporting directly to the Managing Director, the Financial Controller will take responsibility for day-to-day running of the finance function, team supervision, statutory compliance, and management reporting.

Key Skills and Experience:

You will be either fully qualified (ACCA, CIMA, ACA) or Qualified by Experience.

  • Strong understanding of core accounting and financial processes

  • In-depth knowledge of CIS and construction-related finance

  • Experience preparing financial reports, budgets, and forecasts

  • Advanced Excel skills for financial analysis and reporting

  • Highly organised and detail-oriented

  • Strong technical knowledge of CIS, VAT and tax principles

  • Stakeholder management

  • Adaptable, collaborative, and team-focused

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee daily financial operations and lead the finance function

  • Prepare monthly management accounts and supporting reports

  • Manage cash flow and debtor control processes

  • Handle key financial queries from clients and contractors

  • Contribute to the review of commercial contracts and agreements

  • Support forecasting of secured work and income pipelines

  • Monitor and report on project and business unit profitability

  • Ensure compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements

  • Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial plans

  • Support year-end processes and external audits
