We are looking to hire ambitious, and value-adding talent to join Modulr, the fastest growing payments business in the UK and Europe, to drive fraud processing, whilst leading and managing a team to drive efficiency and high service standards.
We are looking for an Edinburgh based candidate to leverage our Office First" strategy but the team is based across various locations and will support both our UK and European entities.

The roleThe Financial Crime Operations function executes processes to mitigate risks to Modulr as they relate to Money Laundering/Terrorist Financing, Fraud, Sanctions, and other Financial Crime risks (such as Anti-bribery & Corruption).
An essential part of any operation, but especially first line risk functions, is to ensure the teams have consistent, good quality, processes & procedures that set out how we do things and that also highlight operational risks, and the control environment employed to mitigate them. These are then supplemented with training material and a quality & competency framework.
The Financial Crime Manager (Quality, Risk and Change) will be responsible for ensuring operational documentation is in place, up to date, relevant and reflective of the function, it's responsibilities, activities and controls. In addition, this team will develop, manage and maintain a quality framework, including carrying out quality assurance activities.
The Quality, Risk and Change team will drive continuous improvement for the Financial Crime Operations function ensuring continual focus on efficiency and effectiveness. In addition, the team will represent the function on all significant change initiatives or business-wide projects and programmes.
As an area of considerable focus in the industry, this is a fantastic opportunity for someone to help shape and deliver a market leading proposition which protects Modulr, our clients and broader payment service users. The ability to deliver through effective operational management, stakeholder engagement and clear reporting, while taking an analytical approach to changing complexities are key factors for success in the role.
Specific duties: - Creating and maintaining process documentation for Financial Crime Operations. These should include highlighting operational risks and controls.
- The creation, management and maintenance of a Training, Quality and Competency Framework that sets out approach and activities for onboarding training requirements, achieving & maintaining competency and quality assurance.
- Delivering a high-quality client experience, ensuring processes and touchpoints are efficient and seamless, and teams are professional and focused on delivering high quality service and outcomes.
- Developing, monitoring, and maintaining key performance indicators to drive performance, update stakeholders and identify areas for improvement.
- Build knowledge and capacity in the team to provide advisory support to internal and external customers without impacting operational performance.
- Giving advisory support to internal and external stakeholders on compliance queries.
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement, proactively developing team's policies and procedures to evolve in line with the business' strategic growth, both product and country expansion.
- Using data to identify opportunities for improvements, particularly in control outcomes, service quality and efficiency. Working with the Product team to establish and drive initiatives to deliver on these.
- Feeding into relevant internal governance forums and reporting.
