Fire Alarm Tester
  • Job Type: Part-time, Permanent (Tue, Wed, Thurs 25.5hrs)
  • Location: Kingston, Greater London
  • Salary: £17,484.00

We are looking for a dedicated Fire Alarm Tester to join our Estates and Asset Department. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our diverse estate, which includes multiple sites within a 4-mile radius. This position requires a commitment to maintaining our high standards of fire safety through regular testing and reporting.

Day to Day of the Role:
  • Conduct weekly statutory fire alarm tests across various sites, adhering to a strict schedule.
  • Accurately record test results for fire safety logbooks and compliance systems.
  • Gain proficiency in operating different alarm panels across each site.
  • Coordinate with site fire wardens to ensure smooth operation of testing procedures.
  • Promptly report any detected faults or issues to the facilities management helpdesk.
  • Monitor and report any fire safety concerns, such as blocked exits or combustible materials.
  • Assist in annual fire risk assessments and fire marshal training when required.
  • Support fire safety initiatives and contribute to the continuous improvement of services.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • A current and valid driving licence and access to a vehicle.
  • Quick learner with the ability to follow detailed instructions.
  • Excellent timekeeping and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, problem-solve, and take initiative.
  • Familiarity with Health & Safety legislation.
  • Keen observation skills and meticulous attention to detail.
  • Strong administrative skills to accurately record work and findings.
  • Desirable: Experience with various fire alarm panels, Nimbus training, and knowledge of fire safety precautions and electrical systems.
