So, you’re a surveyor searching for a new job. You’ve assessed and evaluated the market but haven’t yet found the right fit. How about an exciting role working across a military estate in support of our Army customers? Join a great team at Aspire Defence Services…

Your main responsibility as Fire Surveyor is to evaluate the condition of active and passive building fire installations on the Garrison, to ensure life safety compliance and inform the long-term lifecycle plan.

Being the great surveyor that you are is an outcome of experience, knowledge, and skill, which means you must have experience carrying out condition surveys, the ability to interpret both mechanical and building drawings, and to produce written business reports in a timely manner.

Although this role will be based out of the ABC, you will be required to carry out survey work across the estate in line with the PPM schedule, including working at height and potential confined spaces.

This also includes but is not limited to; identifying all improvement/rectification works required, evaluating building and active fire systems condition from a variety of sources of information, and analysing performance trends and identifying risk.

You will also liaise with team members, assisting in prioritising team workload, and ensure closure of jobs as appropriate and all completed paperwork is documented and passed to the relevant department.

This means you should be able to communicate clearly and work effectively with others, maintaining constructive relationships within the team, across the business and externally. You should also be customer focused and able to deliver high-quality service that meets or exceeds expectations, maintain an appropriate level of quality, following relevant procedures and work instructions and embrace continuous improvement undertaking appropriate learning and development.

But first, meet the team…

With a 35-year contract, making soldiers’ lives better is at the heart of everything we do at Aspire Defence Services.

Seriously, picture a heart (the real one) and imagine how hard it works to keep the body running, making sure every part gets exactly what it needs to thrive. That’s our mission; to deliver a modern, fully serviced, flexible working environment for soldiers.

And just as the heart needs certain parts to keep the body alive, we need the dedication and commitment of our people to support our customers. We deliver a broad range of services for one-third of the British Army living and working on our patch, and we're proud of the work we do.

We’re all about nurturing great teams, and our award-winning safety and wellbeing initiatives are built on keeping an eye out for one another and having a good work-life balance.

In addition to being part of our team, you’ll also get…

  • Hybrid working
  • 25 days annual leave plus bank holidays, as well as the option to buy and sell holiday
  • Contributory Company Pension Plan matched up to 6%, plus individual life assurance
  • A shopping discounts scheme
  • Employee assistance and health and wellbeing check ins
  • Reward and recognition to celebrate outstanding achievements
  • Company car
  • Free on-site parking

Ready to join the team?

You must have an NVQ Level 4/5 in a relevant subject, be computer literate, understanding how to use Microsoft packages and handheld Apps, and have a valid full UK driving licence.
