Flat Roof Technician

Opus People Solutions are seeking a Flat Roof Technician in Ipswich to support a local manufacturer.

The role involves analysis of specifications against client and technical requirements such as material compatibility & suitability, analysis of survey reports, checking for inconsistencies in proposal, production of calculations relative to waterproofing design, and production of technical drawings and PV design.

Calculation training will be provided, covering wind loads for the purpose of confirming enough fixing strength of our waterproofing systems, drainage calculations confirming the required number of outlets, thermal performance, confirming insulation performance, and PV calculation and design.

The ideal candidate will be technically minded and originate from a Construction Industry/Architectural background.

Key Responsibilities include:

• Checking of all incoming specification types produced for all waterproofing systems, against suitability and compatibility
• Checking of roof survey reports
• Understanding of flat roof waterproofing system construction
• Understanding of Industry Codes of Practice/Building Regulations
• Understanding of Part L and Thermal Calculations
• Checking and understanding specification construction, survey reports and construction drawings

The perfect candidate would have experience in the Construction/Architectural industry with knowledge of CAD and an understanding of architectural drawings. If you aren't quite there yet, please don't let it put you off applying!
