Food Development Chef

An opportunity for a Food Development Chef to join a leading foodservice wholesaler, you’ll play an integral part in the development of food solutions, product ranges and innovation that meet customer's needs and drive their growth, you'll demonstrate a passion for food presentation to inspire their customers.

Responsibilities of a Food Development Chef:

• Work with account managers in customer presentations to deliver the food solutions demonstrations that meet their needs
• To engage with the channel strategy output from category meetings and be proactive in the development of the food solutions that further develop the customer's offering
• To utilise the provided tools to assist in the development of the customer’s requirements, for example specifications, recipes, menu design and costings
• Engagement with and influencing of multiple stakeholders: customers (from chef to Board level), buyers, marketing managers, technical nutritionists to exercise judgement in and demonstration of inspiring food solutions
• Ensure that the Company Health & Safety Policy and Company Risk Assessments are effectively implemented at site level

Requirements:

• Proven experience in food preparation and presentation: knowledge of kitchen equipment in multiple sites, working to demanding timescales whilst still being able to engage the customer with inspiring food solutions
• Ability to analyse briefs and apply the required skills to deliver what is important
• An awareness of industry trends and practices and apply them to specific customer briefs
• Basic PC skills - word, Excel and email
• Key behaviours and skills: passion for food, self motivated, ability to communicate effectively both verbally and written
• Ability to project manage and prioritise workloads
• Ability to cost menus / dishes relevant to customer briefs
• Ability to seek feedback and consult stakeholders fully
• Ability maintain standards and procedures within a commercial kitchen environment

Package:

On offer is a basic salary of £45 - £47,000, car allowance £7,100, 25 days holiday, healthcare, contributory pension plus many more corporate benefits.
