8hr shifts, 5 days a week Mon-Sun

£33,000-£35,000 depending on experience + Service Charge

Are you passionate about food and have a deep interest in the coffee industry? Our client, a leading coffee brand, is seeking a Food Supervisor to join their team in the City of London. As the Food Supervisor, you will be responsible for managing our client's outlet's kitchens and ensuring the delivery of high-quality food. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced chef to take on a supervisory role and contribute to the success of our client's food operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage all aspects of the outlet's kitchens and ensure the quality of food meets our client's standards
  • Supervise kitchen staff, delegate tasks, and maximise kitchen staff productivity and food sales
  • Maintain local legal standards regarding hygiene, health, and safety in the kitchen
  • Plan food and equipment requirements and maintain proper health and sanitary standards to safeguard customer health
  • Monitor the quality of food and ensure it is in accordance with company standards
  • Ensure dishes are prepared on time and in perfect hygienic conditions
  • Control stock rotation and maintain the proper stock of necessary goods
  • Establish and maintain contacts with suppliers to get the best deals
  • Undertake regular reviews of training and development needs and develop ongoing kitchen staff training programmes

Requirements:

  • Experience as a chef in branded chain restaurants, cafes, bistros, or coffee shops
  • Strong skills in cost of goods sold (COGS) control in multi-unit establishments
  • Proficiency in computer software, including word processing, spreadsheets, and PowerPoint
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organisational skills
  • Leadership skills and the ability to foster a team environment
  • Passion for Italian food and experience in food preparation
  • Culinary school or hospitality/catering management degree or equivalent experience
  • Ideally, a minimum of 1 year of experience as a Head Chef

Desirable:

  • Experience working abroad, preferably in Europe
  • Good command of the English language (spoken and written)
