Job Title: Forest Provision Support Worker

Job Type: Part-Time/Full-Time

Salary: £25-£30 per hour

About Us: We are a dynamic and passionate team dedicated to providing enriching outdoor experiences for children with Special Educational Needs (SEN).

Role Overview: We are seeking a dedicated Forest Provision Support Worker with experience in working with SEN children. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and engaging children in outdoor activities, ensuring their safety, and fostering a positive and inclusive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan and facilitate outdoor activities that cater to the needs and abilities of SEN children.
  • Provide one-on-one or group support to children, ensuring their safety and engagement.
  • Adapt activities to meet individual needs and promote inclusion.
  • Build positive relationships with children, parents, and colleagues.
  • Assist with the setup and cleanup of activities and ensure all equipment is used safely and responsibly.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance, incidents, and progress.
  • Communicate effectively with parents and guardians about their child's experiences and progress.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with SEN children in an educational or recreational setting.
  • A genuine passion for the outdoors and nature-based learning.
  • Ability to travel reliably to various locations across Peterborough.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude.
  • Relevant qualifications in childcare, education, or a related field are desirable but not essential.
  • First Aid certification is an advantage.

Ideally you will have your DBS on the update service, or be willing to acquire one (we will pay for the initial DBS application).
