Our client, a leading national fostering agency and social enterprise, is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Fostering Service Manager to join their South West service.
 
This is an exciting opportunity to inspire and lead a team of dedicated, skilled staff and carers who are passionate about providing children and young people the opportunity to flourish and fulfil their true potential.
 
Role Overview:
Based in the Bristol fostering office, with a required presence in the Gloucester office, this role is instrumental in developing and delivering the business plan, shaping, influencing, and implementing the future growth and development of the Fostering Service. You will face exciting challenges and opportunities as our client continues to develop and improve their services.
 
Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as the Ofsted Registered Manager, accountable for the service.
  • Meet all regulatory requirements and lead the ambition to achieve an OUTSTANDING Ofsted judgement.
  • Demonstrate experience or knowledge of working in a commercial environment within a childcare setting.
  • Strong commitment to turning around the lives of children and young people.
  • Experience in resource and performance management.
  • Sound understanding of the Fostering Regulations and National Minimum Standards.
  • Work with a driven and ambitious team, including two team managers, to continually improve the service provided to children and foster carers.
  • Part of the national Operational Management Group, with autonomy to shape the service delivery locally and more widely.
Requirements:
  • Experience in a management position within a Fostering Service (Independent, Voluntary, or Local Authority).
  • Current Social Work England Registration.
  • Hold a Level 5 in Leadership & Management qualification or equivalent, or be prepared to undertake training to achieve this within the first year of appointment.
  • Extensive travel within the service area and occasionally beyond for meetings and other events.
Hours:
  • 37 hours per week
  • Monday to Thursday: 9 am to 5 pm
  • Friday: 9 am to 4:30 pm
  • Expectation to join the Out of Hours Rota
  • This is an office-based role.
