Fractional Finance Director - Multisite Nursery - Remote (Outside IR35)

Harmonic is delighted to be working with a multisite nursery group headquartered in Brighton in their search for an interim Finance Director to join their team. This is a fantastic opportunity to join and established, but ambitious company, and play a key role in the businesses drive for growth.

The role

The role will initially be 2 days a week on a fractional basis, with the possibility for this to expand over time. While the headquarters are based in Brighton, the role will be remote, and will involve occasional travel down to their office.

The role would be the No.1 in finance and report directly to the C-Suite. You would have responsibility for the audit and own the financial controls system, financial reporting as well as overseeing a junior finance member. You would also be the bridge between the finances, and other directors within the business, providing valuable insights into their strategy for their expansion plans. Further, there will be need for support the managing director and senior staff to ensure robust governance and financial processes.

You'll also be tasked with fully utilising the day-to-day financial systems such a Xero and Famly, to ensure the company is using them efficiently.

Responsibilities

  • Work with team to generate monthly financial reports and analysis for management review
  • Work with the Senior Management Team and site teams to offer insight and drive efficiency across the business and recommend changes which will improve the company's financial performance
  • Support the MD and other senior staff to ensure robust governance and financial processes are embedded in daily practice
  • Prepare, manage, share and monitor site budgets and provide financial forecasts.
  • To undertake a review of procurement and sourcing practices across the business and develop and implement a cohesive procurement strategy to improve efficiency and value for money
  • Work closely with the Head of Revenue to understand how to best processes Early Years government funding streams and understand the regulatory environment and how these might impact the business

Experience

  • Qualified Accountant (ACA, ACCA or CIMA)
  • Multisite experience - ideally Nurseries or some form of education but not essential.
  • Experience in being number 1 or 2 in finance

Day Rate: 575-650 (Outside IR35)
