We are actively looking to recruit skilled and experienced customs compliance candidates for an exciting role as a Freight Customs Supervisor in Manchester (working on a hybrid basis).

Client Details

Our client is an independently owned leader within the customs, freight and logistics field. They have an outstanding reputation for delivering excellence within the International Logistics Industry. They are experts in customs clearance, freight forwarding, logistics and supply chain management, delivering award-winning E-commerce Solutions, & Value-Added Freight Forwarding services. As a result, we are currently looking to appoint a new UK Director of Customs Compliance based on a hybrid basis from Manchester.

Description

As a Freight Customs Supervisor, you will report into the European Custom Operations Manager on a daily basis. You will also have the following roles & responsibilities:

  • To supervise the delivery of the operational management and continuous development of our Customs Products across road, air & sea freight.
  • Managing a team of circa 5 employees across a full UK customs operation.
  • Supervision of the group's Customs product whilst looking at continuous ways to develop and improve our processes.
  • Continuous maintenance and auditing when required of our IRP, ORP, CFSP, ETSF, and NCTS products, plus our Port/Airport customs badges.
  • Assisting with maintaining our AEO accreditation by working with all branches and continuous monitoring to ensure the group is aligned with HMRC expectations.
  • Ensure the business is up to date with the latest Customs processes & any upcoming changes and this is reported back to the business
  • Provide CDS guidance and support to company branches.
  • Being available for any questions/queries HMRC could have in regards to the group's AEO, CDS and other Customs topics.

Profile

The successful Freight Customs Supervisor will have a strong background in freight forwarding and customs. They will ideally be a market leader in their field. You will also have the following skills an experience:

  • Operational experience of customs and customs compliance (circa 5+ years)
  • Working knowledge of AEO accreditation is desirable
  • Experience of managing and leading teams of customs entry agents and compliance specialists
  • Working knowledge of IRP, ORP, CSFP and ETSF clearances.
  • Commutable to Manchester three days per week, with the ability to work on a hybrid basis thereafter.
