Functional Skills Tutor

Our client, a prominent figure in the training and apprenticeships sector, is seeking a dedicated Functional Skills Tutor for their bustling centre in East Riding of Yorkshire, specifically Beverley. This vital role focuses on delivering English and Mathematics at Levels 1 and 2 to learners who are enrolled in the military. This position offers the unique opportunity to impact the educational journey of many, in an environment where teamwork and community are valued.

• Deliver engaging and effective training sessions in Mathematics and English at Levels 1 and 2.
• Work closely with a team of professionals, including taking turns to manage weekly evening classes, ensuring a collaborative and supportive environment.
• Coordinate with the team leader to plan and execute training effectively, adapting to the sporadic nature of learner attendance.
• Maintain a high standard of teaching, making use of multiple classrooms and managing groups

• Proven experience in delivering Functional Skills
• Teaching qualification such as PTLLS or AET is desirable
• Ability to manage classes and adapt schedules as required, with a balanced approach to work-life integration.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to foster learning and engagement among a diverse group of learners.
• A strong sense of commitment and the ability to work effectively within a team setting.

My client is offering:

• A starting salary of £27,000 - £28,500
• Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week contract
