Funeral Director

Smiths Funeral Directors are an established independent funeral directors, with an outstanding reputation, built upon years of consistently coordinating funerals with care and compassion. As a business ever developing and expanding, a position is available for an experienced Funeral Director to join our team.

The role requires a high degree of accuracy, professionalism, and integrity. Our Funeral Directors must possess the skills necessary to deal directly with bereaved families as a kind, sympathetic listener, and confidante. They must have the ability to deal with difficult and challenging circumstances in a calm and effective manner.

Specific Responsibilities:

To deal directly with bereaved families, offering the necessary information and technical advice.

To conduct funerals with professional confidence, whilst sensitively fulfilling family’s requests.

Representing the company and forward its interest in the local community in which we operate.

To contribute directly to the development of ALL aspects of the business.

Supporting the Out of Hours / On Call Team in Rota Participation

The applicant must be/demonstrate:

Good computer literacy regarding email and word processing.

Excellent communication skills, both face to face and over the telephone.

Good time keeping skills.

A good team player whilst also being self-motivated.

Have a good command of English and legible handwriting.

Qualifications - Diploma in Funeral Directing or equivalent (not essential).

Minimum 2 years experience as a Funeral Director.

Full UK Driving License required.
