Title: Furniture Buyer
Hours: Monday - Friday, 08:45 am - 17:30 pm
Location: Plymouth, Devon

Responsibilities:

  • Maximise Sales and Profitability: Take primary accountability for maximising sales, margins, and profitability in this fast-paced and diverse category.
  • Lead Supplier Relationships: Build and maintain long-term supplier relationships to deliver a successful product range.
  • Implement Product Strategy: Ensure the product strategy meets customer needs and aligns with market demands.
  • Monitor Market Trends: Continuously review competitor information to keep the product offering relevant in a changing market.
  • Drive Range Reviews: Play a key role in range reviews, supplier negotiations, promotions, and pricing strategies.
  • Ensure Product Quality and Availability: Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure great product availability and quality.

Essential Skills & Requirements:

  • Proven experience in buying, specifically within the furniture industry.
  • Strong awareness of new and upcoming trends.
  • Excellent understanding of consumer behaviour and the marketplace.
  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking skills.
  • Team player with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build relationships and influence both internal and external stakeholders.
