A large fashion company are looking for a Garment Technologist to join their London team to work on a very well known fashion brand, based in the West End. This role is fully office based and would be ideal for a candidate previous experience in a similar role across both men's and womenswear.

Experience/Skills Required:

  • Currently working as Junior Garment Technologist or Garment Technologist.
  • Used to working under pressure and in a fast paced environment.
  • Highly competent IT skills - Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint.
  • 3-5 years of Jersey product experience would be ideal
  • Experience in working with sustainable products would be beneficial.

Roles and Responsibilities:

  • Prepare garments for Fit Sessions, update workbooks, review construction and components.
  • Be able to measure garments and models confidently, documenting measurements and training other team members.
  • Attend fit sessions, take responsibility for fitting garments and making fit comments, updating workbooks and size charts and sending to factories.
  • Understand different methods of construction for Jersey garments.
  • Confidently liaise with suppliers and factories within Europe and the Far East.
  • Approve shipment samples and AQL reports.
  • Maintain, follow and update departmental manuals – Testing, Quality, How to measure etc.
  • Work with design and supply base to develop new seasonal products, providing measurements and construction information.
  • Resolve queries and create corrective action plans with the factories for continual improvement. 
  • Have experience of approving and developing packaging and labelling standards.
